Our Journey
The Beginning
Moawin Foundation began with the vision of Admiral (R) Mohammad Asif Sandila NI (M), who was moved by the reality that a large number of children were out of school, while many others studied in government classrooms without even the most basic facilities.
First School Transformation
In 2015, Moawin Foundation initiated the transformation of two government schools in Sheikhupura. What began as an effort to provide free primary education and improve government school conditions soon laid the foundation for a broader movement to strengthen public education from within.
Strengthening Classrooms
As classrooms improved, so did ambition. Schools were supported, teachers were trained, and learning environments began integrating Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) centers, EdTech, E-Learning, Morals & Ethics Lessons, and Life Skills-Based Education (LSBE). With each step, enrollment increased, reflecting the growing trust of communities.
Beyond the Classroom
The model expanded beyond academics to include clean water access, health and hygiene initiatives, and climate resilience efforts. These improvements strengthened not only schools but also the communities around them.
Strategic Partnerships
This journey was further strengthened through collaborations with leading academic partners, including LUMS, NUST, TTWF, Sabaq Muse, Sabaq.pk, Noon Academy, and Taleemabad, along with corporate partnerships including OGDCL and Pakistan Petroleum Limited, helping deepen impact and extend reach responsibly.
Today — Expanding Nationwide Impact
Today, Moawin Foundation supports 336 government schools, has reached hundreds of thousands of students with a significant proportion of girls enrolled, and has trained 5,073 teachers across Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The journey reflects steady growth, expanding reach, and a long-term commitment to strengthening public education systems at scale.
Chairman’s Message
Moawin Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to educate, train, and empower underserved communities across Pakistan. Since our establishment in 2014, we have focused on strengthening public-sector schools and expanding access to quality education through comprehensive interventions.
Our core initiatives include improving the quality of education by introducing morals and ethics curricula, implementing life skills-based education, activity-based learning, repairing essential infrastructure, enhancing teachers’ capacity, and integrating digital learning tools. In 2025, the Moawin community expanded significantly with the adoption of schools under the PSRP and PEIMA programs.
Beyond education, our efforts encompass skills development, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs, and broader community empowerment initiatives, ensuring sustainable progress for marginalized families across the country. We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, corporate supporters, and donors, whose unwavering support enables us to fulfill this national task with transparency and dedication. Special thanks to those who participated in our fundraising events in the USA and UK, helping us reach more communities in need. We consider our work a humble effort in nation-building through education and skills development in the rural areas of Pakistan.
