Japan Supports Moawin Foundation’s Women’s Vocational Training Institute

A proud milestone for Moawin Foundation and a meaningful step towards women’s economic empowerment in Pakistan.

The Government of Japan, through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Programme, has awarded USD 53,419 (approximately PKR 14.8 million) to Moawin Foundation for the construction of a Women’s Vocational Training Institute in Village Dulmial, District Chakwal, Punjab.

The grant contract was signed today, 27 August 2026, at the Embassy of Japan in Islamabad between H.E. Mr. AKAMATSU Shuichi, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, and a representative of Moawin Foundation.

The new institute will provide women from surrounding communities with practical training in dressmaking, stitching, and fashion design, helping them develop sustainable sources of income and greater economic independence.
240 women will be trained annually, creating new opportunities for skills development, entrepreneurship, and improved livelihoods.

This initiative has been made possible through the generous contribution of the local community of Village Dulmial, which donated land for the institute a powerful example of community ownership and partnership.
