Leadership, Vision, and Purpose
Under the leadership of Admiral (R) Asif Sandila, Former Chief of Naval Staff and Founder & Chairman of Moawin Foundation, the organization has grown into one of Pakistan’s most impactful education-focused NGOs.
Carrying forward the mission to Educate, Train, and Empower beyond borders, Admiral (R)Asif Sandila led the U.S. Donor Drive 2025, engaging overseas Pakistanis, philanthropists, and well-wishers to strengthen Moawin’s educational and community development initiatives. The tour spanned four major U.S. cities — New York, Washington D.C., Houston, and Godfrey (Illinois) — between October 3 and October 25, 2025.
New York (October 3, 2025)
The U.S. donor drive began in Brooklyn, New York, where Admiral (R) Asif Sandila met a number of distinguished guests and donors, including Jimmy Engineer, the internationally renowned artist, philanthropist, and humanitarian. Their meeting reflected a shared belief in the power of creativity and compassion to drive social impact.

Jimmy Engineer extended his support to Moawin Foundation’s mission by donating his original paintings, which were later auctioned at the Houston fundraising gala. The proceeds will contribute to Moawin’s education reform, teacher training, and community uplift initiatives in Pakistan.
Washington, D.C. (October 12, 2025)
Continuing his visit, Admiral Sandila met with donors and education advocates in Washington, D.C., focusing on building lasting partnerships to expand Moawin Foundation’s Government School Adoption Model. Discussions highlighted Moawin’s approach to transforming existing government schools into sustainable, well-equipped learning environments through teacher training, digital learning, and infrastructure enhancement.
These meetings emphasized Moawin’s holistic philosophy of reforming education by empowering both students and teachers, ensuring scalability and long-term community ownership.
Houston, Texas (October 17, 2025)
The highlight of the U.S. Donor Drive was the Moawin Foundation Donor Gala, held at the Grand Tuscany Hotel, Houston, Texas. The event brought together Pakistani-Americans and international supporters for an evening of generosity and inspiration.

The event was hosted by Dua Malik and Wajahat Ali, and featured Jimmy Engineer, whose donated paintings were auctioned to raise funds for Moawin’s educational programs.
In his address, Admiral (R) Asif Sandila shared Moawin Foundation’s inspiring journey:
“When we started in 2015, we had just two schools and 400 children. Today, Moawin Foundation has adopted 338 schools with around 46,000 students. This has only been possible because of people like you, both in Pakistan and abroad, who believe in giving back.”
Muhammad Hussain, President of Moawin Foundation USA, also addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of education:
“In the U.S., we are privileged with education and opportunity. Back home, millions of children don’t have that chance. If we can help even one child learn and build a future, that’s an achievement worth celebrating.”
Host Dua Malik added a heartfelt reflection that deeply resonated with the audience:
“Think about one child who studies, succeeds, and uplifts not just their own life but their entire family and community, imagine the reward for enabling that change.”
The gala beautifully merged art, compassion, and purpose, strengthening the bond between Moawin and its international supporters.
Meeting with Philanthropist Diana MacArthur
During his U.S. visit, Admiral (R) Asif Sandila also met with Diana MacArthur, a renowned philanthropist whose generosity helped build a school in Hunza, Pakistan. Their meeting focused on promoting sustainable educational development in remote and underserved areas of Pakistan.
The discussion underscored the importance of international collaboration to improve access to education and create long-term community impact through partnerships like Moawin Foundation’s.
Godfrey, Illinois (October 25, 2025)
The final event of the donor drive was held at Rosenberg Lane, Godfrey, Illinois, bringing the campaign to a meaningful close. The event gathered families, professionals, and education supporters who came together to advance Moawin’s cause.
A Global Movement for Education and Empowerment
The U.S. Donor Drive 2025 reflected not only Moawin Foundation’s growing global presence but also the deep connection overseas Pakistanis feel toward their homeland’s progress. Chairman Admiral (R) Asif Sandila emphasized the urgent need to enhance school infrastructure and teacher training in Moawin’s adopted schools, urging the global Pakistani community to join this mission. The overwhelming appreciation, response, and generosity received during the campaign reaffirmed faith in collective action and compassion.
Closing the campaign, Admiral (R) Asif Sandila shared his gratitude:
“Together, we can continue building schools, training teachers, and empowering the next generation.”
Moawin Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to all donors, supporters, and community members who stood by its mission to Educate, Train, and Empower — proving that compassion truly knows no borders.
