Education is the foundation of every nation’s progress. Yet, in Pakistan, millions of children are still out of school. Many government institutions struggle with inadequate facilities, undertrained teachers, and limited resources. These challenges have created a widening education gap, especially for children in marginalized areas. Through its innovative school adoption program, Moawin Foundation is addressing this crisis head-on, proving that when we adopt a school in Pakistan, we don’t just build classrooms, we build futures.
Why Adopt a School in Pakistan?
Adopting a government school goes beyond charity, it’s an act of empowerment. Many public schools in Pakistan face serious challenges such as limited resources, poor infrastructure, and a shortage of trained teachers.
In rural areas, the situation is even more critical. Schools often lack basic facilities like clean drinking water, electricity, and safe classrooms, making it difficult for children to learn and thrive.
By adopting a school or supporting its improvement, you help turn these struggling institutions into centers of learning and hope. Your contribution can upgrade classrooms, train teachers, and provide essential learning materials. Ultimately, it transforms the future of underprivileged children and their communities.
Moawin Foundation’s School Adoption Model
Moawin Foundation has developed a unique and sustainable approach to transforming education through its Government School Adoption Program.
It believes that in underprivileged areas, asking children for even a five-rupee fee is unjustifiable. That’s why all of Moawin’s adopted schools operate on a no-fee model, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, can receive quality education free of cost.
What makes Moawin Foundation’s school adoption model distinctive is its focus on both sustainability and scalability. Sustainability means that even if Moawin Foundation eventually steps back from a school, the improvements, such as upgraded infrastructure, trained teachers, and better learning systems will continue to benefit students and the community for years to come.
Scalability ensures that Moawin Foundation creates a larger impact with available resources. By adopting and improving existing government schools instead of constructing new ones, Moawin Foundation provides access to quality education in a cost-effective and replicable way.
This thoughtful and efficient approach has enabled Moawin Foundation to maximize its reach, ensuring long-term educational transformation across Pakistan.
Nationwide Reach, Local Impact
From Karachi to Gilgit-Baltistan, Moawin Foundation’s school adoption program is transforming education across Pakistan. What began as a few schools has now expanded into a far-reaching mission that touches thousands of young lives.
To date, Moawin Foundation has adopted over 338 schools, impacting the learning journey of 45,668 students, nearly 60% of whom are girls. This remarkable outreach is helping bridge Pakistan’s gender gap in education and empower future generations.

In Islamabad, Moawin has reformed 12 government schools under the Federal Directorate of Education and is preparing to expand its impact into Tarnol Union Council.
In Pind Dadan Khan, four schools have been revitalized through improved infrastructure and teacher training.
Across Sheikhupura, 19 schools now serve nearly 5,000 students in three union councils.
In the remote mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Moawin has adopted 65 schools across 10 districts, ensuring that even the most isolated communities have access to quality learning.
Meanwhile, in Karachi’s Jamali Goth and Gadap Town, almost 1,000 children are now receiving an education they once could only dream of.
Each of these schools tells a story of transformation — of hope replacing neglect, and of children finding opportunity where it once seemed impossible.
Real Stories of Change
From Hope to Achievement
Shahnaz, is a student at Moawin Foundation’s adopted Babul Ilam Public School in Ranga, Gilgit. She grew up in one of the most remote and deprived areas of Pakistan. Her family of twelve lived in a small home, and her father, a daily wage earner, struggled to provide for basic needs. Despite these challenges, Shahnaz dreamed of continuing her education.
In 2020, Moawin Foundation adopted her school, upgraded its facilities, and trained teachers. “My happiness had no limit because I could see my dreams coming true,” she shared. Today, Shahnaz studies confidently in the 8th grade, becoming a symbol of hope for her entire community.
A Mother’s Hope Restored
Zaheera, a mother from Dain, was desperate to find a better school for her son after being disappointed by private schooling options. When she learned about the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Center established by Moawin Foundation in her local government school, she enrolled her child.
Within weeks, she noticed a remarkable transformation — her son became more confident, organized, and eager to learn. “He wakes up every morning excited for class,” Zaheera said. Her story is echoed by many parents in the community, reflecting how Moawin’s school adoption work brings real change to families.
